The Barcelona Clúster Nàutic has today organized a discussion at the Institut de Nautica de Barcelona with the candidatures for elections to the City Council of Barcelona, under the title "Tourism, sports and nautical industry under the Barcelona brand".
Invitations for the meeting were sent to the seven political formations that go to the municipal elections and that are currently represented in the City Council, following electoral criteria. Apart from the CUP who kindly declined the invitation, politicians attending were Barcelona en Comú (Jordi Martí), JuntsXCat (Pilar Calvo), C's (Paco Sierra), ERC (Jordi Coronas), PSC (David Escudé) and PP (Eva Higueras).
The debate has been moderated by the journalist of La Vanguardia Piergiorgio Sandri and has been structured in a series of thematic blocks.
The event has served to demonstrate to the future municipal government the importance of the nautical industry in the city, and actually all the political representatives have admitted that it is an economic engine and have said that they will support it in case of winning the elections.
