At the beginning of the year, the Barcelona Nautical Cluster saw the opportunity to be able to access the calls for aid through the NextGeneration funds via the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, which are offered to transformation projects. digital presented by clusters of any economic sector. The Ministry calls these aids "European Aid for Innovative Business Groups (AEIs)".
The AEIs is the term as the Ministry calls the clusters that meet a series of minimum requirements established by the BOE and that are also registered in a register of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism that bears this name.
To this end, from March this year, the cluster began the various actions needed to carry out this registration in the register of the Ministry. Among other necessary bureaucratic actions, one of the main requirements is the drafting of a Strategic Plan of the entity so that the Ministry can evaluate the lines of action of the cluster in the coming years.
Once the Barcelona Nautical Cluster is registered, it will be able to accompany members who wish to apply for the grants convened by the Ministry through the line of aid for the AEIs for projects that promote the digital transformation of the companies that are carried out in the categories of industrial research activities, experimental development activities, organizational innovation and process innovation.
Currently, from the cluster we are in the final phase of drafting the Strategic Plan, and it is expected to be able to complete all the bureaucratic processes of registration of the cluster in the register of Innovative Business Associations during the autumn-winter of this year. Depending on how the administrative processes required by the Ministry to accredit us as an AEI go, it is hoped that we will be able to access the calls for access to European funds throughout 2023.
