Antoni Tió Sauleda, founder and honorary president of Barcelona Clúster Nàutic, will be awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). The proposal was initiated by the Faculty of Nautical Studies of Barcelona (FNB) and approved on March 25 with the support of several institutions and sporting entities.
Tió is a key figure in the Catalan and international nautical world, with a distinguished career marked by his involvement in companies and sector organizations. Passionate about the sea and nautical activities, he has made decisive contributions to the development and promotion of this field from business, institutional, and social perspectives.
Professor Agustí Martín Mallofré, dean of the FNB and sponsor of the investiture ceremony, will present the recognition. The FNB is also one of the partner institutions of Barcelona Clúster Nàutic, the entity that Tió founded and led as executive president before assuming the honorary presidency.
