The Barcelona Clúster Nàutic took part in the Barcelona Electric Marine Show 2026, held at the Port Olímpic of Barcelona, contributing to the debate on the future of decarbonisation in the maritime sector.

As part of the event, the cluster’s director, Claudia Parera, took part in the round table titled “Current national landscape in marine decarbonisation vs industrial decarbonisation: what carries more weight?”, where she shared the perspective of the nautical ecosystem on one of the major transformation challenges facing the sector.

During her intervention, she highlighted that the electrification of vessels is still a relatively unknown reality for a large part of society, although it is expected to become established in the future. In this regard, she compared this process with the evolution of electric vehicles, which have gone from being a novelty to an increasingly widespread option.

She also stressed the importance of ports being prepared for this transition, adapting their infrastructure to accommodate this type of vessel and providing suitable charging points.

The participation of the Barcelona Clúster Nàutic in this event reinforces its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the promotion of a more efficient and environmentally friendly nautical sector.
