The Barcelona Nautical Cluster took part in the kick-off of the third edition of RC Sailing Barcelona 2026, the inter-university competition that combines academia, innovation and sailing through the design and construction of competitive radio-controlled boats.
The project, promoted by the Barcelona Capital Nàutica Foundation and Sail Rush, invites engineering and design students to apply their knowledge in a real technological challenge that will culminate in an inter-university regatta in May 2026.
The presentation event brought together students, faculty members, professionals from the nautical sector and representatives of academic institutions, and included practical demonstrations with International One Metre (IOM) class radio-controlled boats, as well as a round table discussion on technology applied to one-metre-long vessels.
With its attendance, the Barcelona Nautical Cluster reaffirms its commitment to young talent, applied education and innovation linked to maritime culture, fostering Barcelona’s nautical ecosystem.
