Barcelona Clúster Nàutic took part in “Sweden meets Catalonia”, the tenth edition of the international International Intercluster event, which brought together clusters and stakeholders from the Catalan and Swedish business ecosystems in Barcelona. The initiative, organised by ACCIÓ in collaboration with organisations from both territories, aimed to foster knowledge exchange, share best practices and explore new opportunities for international collaboration.

Throughout the event, participants exchanged experiences on strategic issues related to business competitiveness, including innovation, sustainability, digitalisation, artificial intelligence, resilience and the circular economy. The event also provided an opportunity to learn about different cluster development models and create new connections between organisations from a range of sectors.

A Visit to Discover Barcelona’s Nautical Ecosystem

As part of the second day of the programme, Barcelona Clúster Nàutic helped organise a visit to MB92 Barcelona and the Port of Barcelona, giving the Swedish delegation the opportunity to discover the city’s nautical and port industry first-hand.

The visit to MB92 Barcelona provided an insight into the activity of one of the international leaders in repair, maintenance and refit services for large yachts. This highly specialised activity represents an important part of the nautical industry’s value chain and contributes to strengthening Barcelona’s position in the international market for large-yacht services.

The visit to the Port of Barcelona, meanwhile, offered a broader perspective on the city’s maritime and port ecosystem, as well as the diversity of activities taking place within the port environment. In addition to its role as a logistics hub, the Port of Barcelona promotes initiatives focused on innovation, sustainability and the blue economy, opening up new opportunities for development and collaboration across the sector.

Connecting Clusters to Create New Opportunities

The “Sweden meets Catalonia” event highlights the value of cooperation between clusters as a way of strengthening competitiveness, sharing knowledge and developing new initiatives between companies and organisations from different territories.

Barcelona Clúster Nàutic’s participation in the initiative reinforces its commitment to internationalisation, innovation and the creation of strategic partnerships, helping to showcase the potential of Barcelona’s nautical industry and strengthen its links with other European business ecosystems.

We would like to thank ACCIÓ for creating this space for exchange and collaboration, as well as MB92 Barcelona and the Port of Barcelona for contributing to the visit and helping showcase the potential of the city’s nautical ecosystem.

We remain committed to connecting companies, sharing knowledge and creating new opportunities that contribute to the growth and international development of the nautical industry.
