On 16 July, Barcelona Clúster Nàutic participated in the Networking Summer School organised by the CREC – Clúster de Residus de Catalunya at the Museu Molí Paperer de Capellades. The event brought together professionals from different industries to exchange knowledge, address common sustainability challenges and promote cross-sector collaboration on recycling and reuse.
Representing the nautical sector, Barcelona Clúster Nàutic was joined by Armand Sendil, Head of Operations at V de Bravado, the shipyard based in Premià de Mar. His expertise and first-hand experience provided valuable insights into the current challenges and opportunities facing the industry.
During the session, participants discussed key issues related to sustainability and circular economy in the nautical sector. Beyond material recycling, the conversation focused on the importance of extending the lifespan of recreational boats through repair, refurbishment and second-life solutions. The discussion also highlighted initiatives such as MB92 Barcelona’s plastic recycling plant, reflecting the sector’s commitment to innovation while acknowledging the need to continue developing more sustainable end-of-life solutions for recreational vessels.
