On 6 May, the Barcelona Clúster Nàutic took part in a visit to Barcelona Airport organised within the framework of the environmental working group of the Port de Barcelona, led by Jordi Vila.

This participation is part of the cluster’s active involvement in several working groups promoted by the Port of Barcelona, collaborative spaces that bring together different stakeholders from the maritime-port ecosystem to address strategic challenges related to sustainability, innovation and sector development.

The workshop, entitled “Environmental Management and Sustainability Challenges”, took place at the Airport Management Centre in Terminal 1 and gathered professionals and representatives from different organisations to exchange knowledge and experiences on decarbonisation and environmental management in both the airport and port sectors.

The programme included sessions focused on the airport’s sustainability strategy, the port’s decarbonisation and environmental management initiatives, as well as a presentation by EXOLUM on aviation and maritime fuels. The day concluded with a visit to the airport facilities.

Through its participation in initiatives such as this one, the Barcelona Clúster Nàutic continues to strengthen its commitment to sustainability and to fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange among the different stakeholders of the maritime and port sectors.
