Barcelona Clúster Nàutic took part in the fifth edition of the Port Community Environmental Working Group, an initiative promoted by Port de Barcelona on the occasion of World Environment Day. The event aimed to raise environmental awareness and promote marine biodiversity protection through hands-on activities along the Barcelona coastline.

The programme combined a sailing experience together with Barcelona Capital Nàutica Foundation and a workshop focused on the construction of clay biotopes. These structures are designed to support marine life and contribute to the regeneration of underwater ecosystems, reinforcing the nautical sector’s commitment to sustainability.

Throughout the day, participants gained first-hand insight into the importance of conserving marine biodiversity in the Mediterranean, as well as the role that collaborative initiatives between port and nautical organisations can play.

Barcelona Clúster Nàutic highlighted the value of such joint actions, which promote environmental education, sustainability-driven innovation, and the protection of the marine environment, strengthening the sector’s commitment to a more responsible and environmentally conscious future.
